Found your site through the fatfreevegan blog earlier (from the vegan carrot cake recipe post, that looks so good)
I was wondering if there’s a way to make a low-carb vegan version of these brownies? I don’t mind the sugar or dates or whatnot, it’s the flour/potato/starch ingredients that seem to get me in trouble
I transitioned from being vegetarian to being vegan in the past few years [because I love animals] but now I’m trying to go low-carb as well [can’t control my weight otherwise, I seem to burst up into a large pumpkin when I eat carbs]
I tried some vegan black bean brownies from another vegan recipes website, and they came out okay, I put in molasses, maple syrup, coffee etc to mask the taste of the beans which kind of worked, sort of

These are sweet potato brownies. There are tons of bean brownie recipes out there. These brownies use sweet potato instead of beans, so you can not sub that out. If you would rather not use oat flour, you could try almond or coconut flour. I have not tried it though. Black beans, almond flour, cocoa powder (or carob) and dates would probably work to make a good brownie.

^ Yea, sounds good. I think I’ll try this combination, the black bean brownies I’ve made so far were not overly terrific, but I didn’t add in dates or almond flour.
